Lvov, Ukraine. April 10-12, 2004.

I had been thinking about journey to the Ukraine for a long time. This country is quite near to me now, so it became just a question of time to visit it. During Easter long weekend we had several days off, so I decided to realize my plans and invite my friend Maxim to go with me. After arranging accommodation we arrived at small town Przemysl near polish-ukrainian border and crossed it on foot. Then where was small bus to Lvov and after one and a half of an hour we were in the center of the city, near main railway station.
The weather and the city itself were very nice. There probably present all creeds of this part of the world - Russian and Ukrainian orthodox churches, Armenian cathedral, catholic churches, uniate churches, Muslim mosque and remains of the Jewish synagogue. One can follow the history of the city from Galician-Volhynian Princedom, which was the part of medieval Kievan Rus to the Polish Kingdom, following annexation of this region by the Dual Monarchy, then Soviet period and finally as an independent country.
More detailed description of our journey to Lvov you can read here in Russian.
